Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued a Royal Decree (No 16/2023) ratifying the Sultanate of Oman joining the Arab Charter on Human Rights on Tuesday.

• Article 1 ratifies the Sultanate of Oman joining the Arab Charter on Human Rights according to the version attached to this Royal Decree, while taking into consideration a reservation on the provision of Paragraph 2 of Article 19 of the aforementioned charter.
• Article 2 stipulates that the departments concerned will deposit the document of joining the abovementioned charter as per its provisions, while taking into consideration the aforementioned reservation.
• Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
