Muscat – The Ministry of Labour (MoL), in cooperation with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Health, has launched an initiative to support 90 health professionals as part of its efforts to have skilled and qualified health specialties in the labour market.

A statement issued by MoL said, ‘The first edition of the Online Learning Programme aims to help 90 graduates of different health specialties to pass professional classification tests. The ministry will prepare a 12-hour training course targeting graduates of medical specialties from public and private universities and colleges. The course will be implemented through the Oman Medical Specialty Board.

‘The programme aims to identify shortcomings in theoretical knowledge necessary to pass the course and develop a comprehensive plan to prepare for exams.’

Support for aviation sector graduates

On September 7, MoL signed a cooperation programme with SalamAir and Alizz Islamic Bank to finance the training and employment of aviation graduates.
The programme aims to prepare and qualify aviation graduates for jobs and provide the aviation sector in the sultanate with highly qualified local cadres.

The agreement stipulates that SalamAir will finance trainees – RO25000 each – and supervise the training programme, while Alizz Islamic Bank will launch a financing initiative that includes a package of facilities for the aviation sector graduates.
