MoL to begin interviewing fuel station managers soon

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has announced that it will start job interviews for Omanis to appoint them as managers of 655 fuel stations across governorates soon. 

The ministry confirmed that the first screening of applicants has ended and will start interviewing applicants in Dakhliyah on June 14. The interview phase  will end in Muscat on July 19.

The ministry confirmed that the highest number of applicants (1,540) have registered in Muscat, followed by 1,220 in North Batinah, 790 in Dakhliyah, 790 also in Dhofar, 490 in South Batinah, 480 in North Sharqiyah, 400 in South Sharqiyah, 330 in Dhahirah, 270 in Al Wusta, 180 in Buraimi, and 40 in Musandam.

In January 2021, the MoL andOman Society for Oil Services (OPAL) launched an initiative to Omanise the position of fuel station managers for holders of higher diplomas and Bachelor’s degrees in business administration and related fields.

‘The initiative was within the framework of the ministry and OPAL’s vision of Omanising, enabling and developing this sector with capable national cadres who would be able to manage work in these stations. Six hundred and fifty-five fuel stations in the sultanate will benefit from this,’ an MoL statement said.
