Muscat – Customs officials at Muscat International Airport have successfully thwarted a drug smuggling attempt involving a significant quantity of narcotics. During routine inspection procedures, authorities intercepted 17 packages of marijuana, which had a total weight of 6.179 kg.

The illicit substances were discovered hidden within the personal luggage of a passenger arriving at the airport. Legal proceedings against the individual involved are currently underway.
