As part of an event conducted by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR), over 200 sanitary workers will be honoured in Buraimi. The event with a number of recreational items will take place at the Al Nahda Club ground on Monday.
Buraimi Charity Team has joined with the ministry to conduct the evening event. Speaking to Muscat Daily, Khamis al Marboui, a member of the Buraimi Charity Team, said, “The aim of the event is to honour sanitary workers for their efforts in carrying out their work which usually go unnoticed. We also hold this annual event to create awareness that hygiene is the responsibility of all members of society, urging people to leave the public places clean and to put waste in the bins.”
He said the team started the programme in 2017.
“The event will be held from 7-9pm. It will include a number of recreational activities such as football games and tug of war contests. We will distribute about 200 prizes including dinner to all participants.”
He added, “We urge everyone to cooperate in spreading a culture of hygiene among members of society and call upon young people and families to participate in the event.” Registrations for the event can be done on 92531770.
