Tehran – Iranian representative to the United Nations has strongly condemned a recently passed Security Council resolution, labelling the decision a clear injustice against his nation. The resolution, which was sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council, demands that Iran immediately cease its attacks against Gulf nations. In a statement following the vote, Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani argued that the decision distorts the reality of the situation on the ground and fails to address the fundamental origins of the ongoing regional conflict.

Ambassador Iravani asserted that Iran remains the primary victim of unambiguous acts of aggression, citing a campaign that he claims began with the assassination of the country’s supreme leader and other high-ranking officials. According to the representative, since the commencement of hostilities on February 28, over 1,348 civilians have been killed and approximately 17,000 others injured. Furthermore, Iravani reported that more than 19,000 civilian sites, including residential homes and medical facilities, have sustained significant damage, maintaining that the resolution unfairly ignores these losses.
