Muscat – The Environment Authority will hold a press conference on Tuesday to announce that the sultanate will host the second edition of Oman Climate Week.

Organised by the authority in cooperation with a wide range of regional and international organisations, government entities, academic institutions, universities, research centres, private-sector companies and civil society groups, the event aims to consolidate national efforts on climate action.

The press conference will take place under the patronage of Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, with the attendance of representatives from government agencies, the private sector, academia and civil society. Officials will announce the dates of the 2026 edition, outline its main themes, and present key activities planned for the event.

The briefing will underscore Oman’s commitment to global climate goals, including its target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. It will also highlight the vision for the upcoming edition, which focuses on expanding community participation across governorates, launching innovative grassroots initiatives, and positioning Oman Climate Week as a leading regional platform for dialogue and solutions on climate issues.

The organisation of Oman Climate Week 2026 aligns with the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040. It seeks to unify governmental, private, academic and community efforts in climate mitigation and adaptation, accelerate the shift to clean energy, and promote innovation in the circular economy and environmental technologies.
