Muscat – Ministry of Labour (MoL) has issued a stern warning after uncovering repeated cases of forged professional classification and licensing certificates submitted by individuals and companies.
In an official statement, the ministry emphasised that anyone found submitting falsified documents will be legally accountable. The warning extends to institutions and training/ assessment centres operating without proper accreditation.
‘The ministry confirms that such forgery exposes the perpetrator to legal accountability and necessary action will be taken,’ the statement read. ‘Institutes and training centres that assess, train or issue licences for professions covered by professional classification and licensing, without accreditation from the ministry’s Sector Skills Unit, will also be closely monitored. Legal measures will be taken in case of violations.”
MoL stressed the importance of professional classification and licensing, underlining that these are not mere formalities. These play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of work, building trust between employers and clients, protecting professions from illegal practices, and enhancing employment opportunities both locally and internationally.
