Muscat – H E Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, has approved the establishment of four non-profit organisations – Ishraqa Charitable Foundation, Al Yusr Charitable Foundation, Positive Vision (Al Roya Al Ejabya) Association, and the Omani Design Association.
H E Laila issued four Minister of Social Development (MoSD) decisions on Sunday to this effect. The Ishraqa Charitable Foundation will focus on the upliftment of Omani society. Its objectives include offering financial aid for education-related activities, providing support for children with disabilities, and catering to the needs of the elderly and women.
Al Yusr Charitable Foundation is geared towards improving the living conditions of impoverished families, while the Positive Vision Association’s mission is to develop and implement awareness programmes in the field of preventive healthcare.
The association will primarily target groups at high risk of HIV/AIDS and substance addiction. Additionally, it aims to equip its members and volunteers with the necessary skills to engage in its various programmes and activities. By coordinating with other health institutions, both government and private, Positive Vision Association seeks to encourage youth participation in voluntary health check-ups and counseling programmes.
The Omani Design Association is set to advance activities and understanding of design as a sustainable industry, and create connections among design professionals and related sectors.
It also aims to equip institutions – both government and private – and individuals with contemporary design experiences that align with global developments. In addition, Omani Design Association will provide advisory support through its various branches.
