Muscat –The Muscat Municipality has carried out inspection of cafes and restaurants in Muttrah to ensure that they adhere to necessary health requirements.
As a result, the civic body issued violations against 16 shops, closed two and destroyed 92kg of unfit food and seized 104 equipment not suitable for food preparation.
The public health regulations require adherence to some guidelines and requirements for both service providers and clients. These include disinfection of all surfaces frequently, ensuring of proper ventilation, and to provide appropriate personal protective equipment to each worker/employee.
‘Muscat Municipality reaffirms that it will take the necessary legal procedures in accordance with laws. It also hopes for full cooperation in the maintenance of public health and invites everyone to call the toll free number 1111 for any observations or queries.’
