Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) has announced a contest to design a logo for the Green Branch Award. The award was instituted with an aim to honour and recognise individuals and institutions that take a lead in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources.

EA called on Omani designers to participate in the contest.

An EA official said, “The Green Branch Award emphasises the need for protecting the environment and preserving natural resources as a collective responsibility. It is the highest award given by an environmental institution in the sultanate.”

Besides promoting the culture of environment conservation, the award will encourage volunteer teams and private sector institutions to actively contribute to environmental protection.

The EA said the logo design should be innovative, have elements clear and combine simplicity and depth of message of environment preservation. Deriving elements from the environment, with an emphasis on green, the logo should include the name of the award in Arabic and English.
