Lulu launches ‘Kingdom of Mangoes’ festival; 50 varieties in stock

Muscat – Lulu Hypermarket Oman has announced a festival called ‘Kingdom of Mangoes’ across all its stores in the sultanate.

Being held from May 24 to June 2, the festival is a celebration of the ‘king of fruits’.

The festival was inaugurated by H E Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to Oman, at Lulu Hypermarket Bausher, in the presence of Waleed Khalfan al Mamari, Director of Plant Quarantine Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Lulu staff and customers.

‘Kingdom of Mangoes’ features several varieties of mangoes from different parts of the world. Customers can also relish special mango treats in the hot food, bakery, sweets and grocery sections.

Pickled mangoes, mango preserves, smoothies, pulp, juices, jellies and jams will also be available during the promotion.

A press release said Lulu has flown in more than 50 varieties of the tropical fruit from across the world, including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Yemen and more, but Omani mangoes are the highlight of the festival. The promotion will also feature deals and offers on freshly imported mangoes across all Lulu stores.

On the occasion, Shabeer K A, regional director of Lulu Hypermarkets Oman, said, “For the past several years, Lulu has been promoting Festival of Mangoes and this year’s Kingdom of Mangoes is sure to be a popular event among our customers. We have coordinated with our sourcing centres worldwide to help us bring in this delicious fruit for our customers at the most affordable prices. The varieties available are loved equally by customers of all nationalities.
