I would like to see more emphasis on practical learning. Students need opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-life situations. Education should prepare them not only for examinations, but also for university, work and everyday life.

As the new academic year begins, I believe education in Oman should focus more on preparing students for real life. As a first-year college student, I have realised that memorising what is required to pass exams does not always prepare us for the future. Schools could teach communication, new languages, financial management and job skills alongside traditional subjects. Education should prepare us to become responsible, independent and confident adults.
