Duqm – A delegation from the Oman Elite Bikers Club, joined by a number of motorcycle teams from various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) as part of the “Dhofar Shi Thani 2026” programme. The visit brought together around 40 motorcyclists and coincided with the “Stop by Duqm” promotional campaign.

The visit formed part of a tour organised by the club to promote domestic tourism and showcase the diverse economic and tourism assets of the Sultanate of Oman. It also aimed to strengthen communication and facilitate the exchange of experiences among motorcycle enthusiasts and teams from Oman and Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, participants were introduced to the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, its strategic location, and its investment and economic advantages. They also learned about a number of the Zone’s major projects, opportunities and key sectors.

The programme also included visits to several tourism and economic sites in the Wilayat of Duqm, enabling participants to discover the area’s diverse natural and tourism attractions, as well as the ongoing development of its projects, services and infrastructure.

Captain Mohammed bin Ali Al Shuraiqi, Chairman of the Oman Elite Bikers Club, said that including the Wilayat of Duqm on the route of the “Dhofar Shi Thani 2026” event reflects the club’s commitment to introducing participants to the wide range of economic and tourism assets found across the Sultanate of Oman.

He stressed that Duqm represents an important stop on the tour, given the economic and urban development it is witnessing, in addition to its distinctive natural and tourism attractions.

Al Shuraiqi added that the participation of several Saudi motorcycle teams from different regions of the Kingdom reflects growing interest in such tours and contributes to strengthening ties among motorcyclists in the two brotherly countries. It also gives participants the opportunity to experience a variety of destinations and attractions across Oman firsthand.

He noted that such events serve as an effective platform for tourism promotion and for showcasing the diversity that characterises Oman’s various governorates.

For his part, Mohsin bin Salim Masan Al Kathiri, Acting Head of Events and Exhibitions at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, said that the visit by the Oman Elite Bikers Club delegation and the participating Saudi teams complements the objectives of the “Stop by Duqm” campaign, which seeks to encourage travellers and visitors to include Duqm as a stop on their journeys and discover its tourism and natural attractions, as well as its wide range of services.

He added that, through the campaign and its accompanying events and visits, SEZAD seeks to strengthen Duqm’s profile as a destination that brings together business, investment and tourism.

Al Kathiri pointed out that the participation of teams from different regions of Saudi Arabia helps broaden awareness of Duqm across the Gulf region and further strengthens its appeal as a destination for visitors and travellers.

The “Stop by Duqm” campaign is part of a series of promotional initiatives aimed at stimulating tourism activity in the Wilayat of Duqm and encouraging travellers to stop and explore its attractions, facilities and services, thereby further reinforcing Duqm’s position as one of the Sultanate of Oman’s promising economic and tourism destinations.
