Tehran – US official reported that American forces carried out strikes targeting two rocket launchers on Iran’s Larak Island. This marked the first known US military attack on Iran since late July.

The US Central Command stated that the operation was a limited and precise action directed against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces preparing to deploy sea mines near shipping lanes.

In response, Iranian state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched retaliatory attacks on regional bases, while Jordanian armed forces successfully intercepted eight missiles that breached Jordan’s airspace without causing damage or casualties.

Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington will continue deploying heavy economic sanctions, focusing initially on banking institutions, to exert financial pressure on Tehran.
