Muscat – The holiday for Prophet’s Birthday on August 27, which was announced earlier in the cabinet meeting by the Council of Ministers, offers employees a three-day weekend since August 27 falls on a Thursday, followed by Friday and Saturday as the weekend.

The Council of Ministers approved a policy to announce the dates of national and religious public holidays in advance at the beginning of each Gregorian calendar year to enhance institutional efficiency and improve administrative planning across government and private sector entities.

The Ministry of Labour noted that this advance notice enables state apparatus units and private institutions to organise work schedules better and reduces clashes with local or international events.
