Muscat – Oman Air announced delays and cancellations across parts of its network on Saturday, citing technical issues affecting operations and temporary restrictions on certain air routes.
The airline said that it had adjusted several flight schedules and was working to restore normal services as quickly as possible. It did not specify the number of flights or destinations affected.
The update followed posts on social media drawing attention to flight disruption and difficulties faced by passengers.
Oman Air said affected passengers would receive schedule updates through WhatsApp, email or SMS using the contact details registered with their bookings.
Where suitable alternatives are available, some passengers may be rebooked on services operated by other airlines, it added.
‘Our teams are working around the clock to manage the situation, minimise disruption and restore regular operations as quickly as possible, while supporting affected guests throughout their journeys,’ Oman Air stated.
Passengers have been advised to ensure their contact details are current and check the status of their flights on the airline’s website before travelling to the airport.
The airline apologised for the inconvenience but did not indicate when regular operations were expected to resume.
