Muscat – Oman Air carried 270,000 passengers to Salalah during this year’s khareef season, a 9% increase from 2025 and the highest passenger volume recorded by the airline in recent years.

The airline increased capacity to Salalah by 16% compared to last year, operating up to 15 flights a day during August to meet peak demand. Additional services using Boeing 787-9 aircraft provided higher seat capacity.

Passenger numbers recorded their strongest year-on-year growth in June, rising 24%.

Oman Air also launched a three-times-weekly Dubai-Salalah service in July, adding more than 4,900 seats a month. Scheduled charter flights between Bahrain and Salalah were also operated during July and August to support inbound tourism.

Nasser Al Sharji, CEO of Oman Air, said the airline remained committed to supporting tourism and economic activity in Dhofar by expanding connectivity and providing more travel options during the khareef season.

The airline said the additional services were aimed at supporting domestic tourism and connecting visitors with destinations and communities across Oman.
