Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority has issued a weather warning regarding active surface winds expected to affect most governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.

The impact is anticipated to be most concentrated in desert and exposed areas, specifically within the governorates of Dhahirah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar. This weather pattern is scheduled to commence on Wednesday and persist for several days.

These conditions will likely cause the rising of dust and sand, leading to a significant reduction in horizontal visibility. Furthermore, sea conditions in the Arabian Sea are expected to become rough, with wave heights reaching a maximum of 4.5 metres.

Additionally, Civil Aviation Authority has also issued an alert regarding the formation of fog and low clouds expected to affect parts of the Sultanate between July 15 to 17.

The fog is predicted to occur during the late night and early morning hours across the coastal areas of the South Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates. These conditions may lead to a significant reduction in horizontal visibility. Additionally, there is a possibility of low cloud formation over parts of the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of Oman, which may occasionally be accompanied by light drizzle.
