Muscat – Muscat Municipality is continuing work on the redevelopment of the Central Business District (CBD) in Ruwi as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public facilities and elevate the capital’s urban landscape.

The project is aimed at revitalising one of Muscat’s oldest and most important commercial hubs through comprehensive infrastructure upgrades and improvements to public spaces. The redevelopment seeks to create a more attractive, organised and pedestrian-friendly environment for residents, businesses and visitors.

The initiative includes enhancement of roads, pavements and public amenities, while also improving traffic flow and accessibility throughout the district. The project is expected to boost the area’s appeal as a key business and commercial destination and support economic activity in the heart of Ruwi.

Muscat Municipality said the redevelopment reflects its commitment to sustainable urban planning and improving the quality of life in the governorate. The project is part of broader efforts to modernise prominent neighbourhoods across Muscat, preserve their economic significance and ensure they meet the demands of a growing and evolving city.
