Muscat – The second edition of the Archery Championship, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in collaboration with the Omani Archery Society, commenced on Wednesday at Al Amal Club.
The tournament has attracted 203 male and female participants from across all governorates. The event opened with a two-day foundational training course for 51 archery referees, supervised by international referee Lilian Ayoubi and the president of the Omani Archery Society, Khoula bint Ali Al Hinai.
This course aims to qualify national cadres to manage tournaments in accordance with international standards. The championship competitions, which include categories for Olympic, compound, and traditional archery as well as events for athletes with disabilities, are scheduled to run from Friday to Sunday.
