South Batinah – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Barka, seized approximately 3,000kg of adulterated animal feed. Following a consumer report regarding suspected unlawful activities, investigation teams conducted an inspection at a local commercial establishment.
The team discovered that expatriate workers were illegally repackaging expired animal feed into new bags and marking them with false, valid expiry dates to deceive buyers. This activity constitutes a direct violation of Article (7) of the Consumer Protection Law, which prohibits the circulation of adulterated, spoiled, or unauthorised goods.
Authorities confiscated 100 bags of the feed, each weighing over 28 kg, and subsequently imposed financial penalties on the violators. The adulterated products were destroyed to ensure they could not enter the market, and the Consumer Protection Authority has urged the public to continue reporting such harmful practices to maintain market safety.
