Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the opening of registration for the third edition of the Military Discipline Programme, calling on eligible students to take part in the four-week initiative aimed at strengthening leadership skills, discipline, patriotism and personal development among young Omanis.

Organised in cooperation with the relevant military authorities, the programme targets Omani male students in Grades 10 and 11 aged between 15 and 16 years who haven’t participated in the programme earlier.

According to the MoE, participation is subject to medical fitness requirements and written approval from a parent or guardian. The programme is designed to instil positive values and contribute to building well-rounded and responsible citizens.

The training will be held at the Military Technological College in Muscat from July 25 to August 19. Participants will undergo a structured schedule combining military training, educational activities and cultural programmes.

Morning sessions will focus on military discipline, physical fitness, teamwork and leadership. Students will also receive instruction in military fundamentals such as drills, saluting procedures, marching and marksmanship, alongside lectures aimed at strengthening national identity and citizenship values.

The evening programme will include cultural, religious and national awareness lectures, as well as a range of sporting activities such as football, volleyball, horse riding and swimming.

The ministry noted that the programme contributes to character building by encouraging punctuality, respect, responsibility and self-reliance. It also seeks to equip students with practical life skills and enhance their ability to make sound decisions and work effectively within a team environment.

The Military Discipline Programme has become one of the ministry’s key youth initiatives, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop their abilities, strengthen their sense of national belonging and prepare for future leadership roles in service of the nation.
