Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has cancelled the licences of six Sanad Service Centres after identifying violations of regulations governing their operations during routine inspections.
The ministry said the centres were located in several governorates and that the action forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance, improve operational efficiency and enhance the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
At the same time, MoCIIP announced 10 new licensing opportunities for Sanad Service Centres in a number of wilayats, selected on the basis of population density and economic activity.
The ministry said the opportunities are open to eligible Omani citizens and are intended to support entrepreneurship, create employment opportunities and strengthen the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the economy.
Fathi bin Nasser Al Mahmooli, Assistant Director of Sanad Service Centres at MoCIIP, said the ministry continues to implement development plans aligned with the government’s digital transformation agenda.
He said efforts are focused on strengthening compliance with regulations, improving service quality, expanding the range of services available and creating a regulatory environment that supports the long-term sustainability of the centres.
Al Mahmooli added that the ministry is also working to empower Sanad centre owners through partnerships with government and private sector entities, while enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the growth of Omani-owned enterprises.
Sanad Service Centres are operated by Omani entrepreneurs and provide a wide range of electronic services to individuals, businesses and government entities. The centres play a key role in supporting digital service delivery, creating jobs and encouraging the development of SMEs.
According to ministry statistics, 922 Sanad Service Centres were operating across Oman at the end of May 2026.
More than 219,000 transactions were processed through the Sanad electronic portal between January and May this year. The centres currently provide 390 services and employ 2,296 Omanis, most of whom are between 20 and 39 years old.
