Mwasalat announces Suhar-Khasab shuttle for residents

Khasab – Mwasalat will launch a dedicated shuttle bus service between Khasab, Bukha and SuharstartingJune 17 in a move aimed at improving domestic connectivity and providing an alternative travel option for residents unable to transit through the United Arab Emirates.

The new service is specifically designed for passengers who do not hold a UAE entry visa, offering a direct route within Oman and helping facilitate travel between the Musandam and the rest of the sultanate.

According to an official notice issued in coordination between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Musandam governorate, the shuttle will operate on the Khasab-Bukha-Suhar route and run once every week on Wednesdays. The service will function as a round trip in accordance with an approved timetable.

Passengers will be able to board the bus at designated points in Khasab and Bukha, with the final destination being the Mwasalat bus station in Suhar, and vice versa in the other direction. 

Tickets are priced RO6 for a one-way tripand RO10 for return, providing an affordable transport option for eligible travellers. Authorities also noted that tickets must be purchased through Mwasalat sales outlets at least one week before the travel date.

According to the arrangements, Mwasalat will work closely with the relevant agencies in Oman, including Royal Oman Police and the concerned authorities in Musandam and Suhar, as well as with the competent authorities in the UAE, to facilitate the necessary transit and entry procedures for eligible passengers.

Introduction of the shuttle service is expected to ease mobility challenges faced by individuals who cannot obtain UAE entry visas while strengthening transport links between Musandam and other parts of Oman. It also reflects ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and ensure reliable public transportation solutions for residents.
