Muscat – Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has officially assumed the responsibility for operating the maritime rescue station, taking over the mandate previously held by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This transition aligns with national efforts to bolster the emergency response system and enhance the overall efficiency of rescue operations across the Sultanate. The Authority has confirmed its full operational readiness, supported by a team of highly qualified national specialists trained in water search and rescue as well as emergency medical services. All necessary technical and administrative procedures have been finalised to ensure the seamless and continuous delivery of these critical services on a 24-hour basis.
The newly integrated operational framework encompasses specialised teams equipped with modern technology and expertise to manage a wide range of maritime incidents and search operations for missing persons. These water rescue units are complemented by qualified ambulance personnel, who are prepared to provide urgent medical care and ensure the safe transport of injured individuals according to established safety protocols. This strategic move reflects the Authority’s commitment to expanding its field capabilities to match the ongoing growth in maritime, tourism, and economic activities within Oman. By unifying these rescue efforts under a single mandate, the Authority aims to improve field readiness and provide comprehensive protection for lives and property.
Furthermore, the Authority continues to prioritise the professional development of its personnel through ongoing training and the modernisation of field operational systems. This commitment ensures that rescue teams maintain a high level of speed, effectiveness, and professionalism when responding to emergencies.
