Muscat – Russian House Oman has launched its first Russian language programme, marking the beginning of a broader educational initiative aimed at promoting Russian language and culture in the Sultanate of Oman.
The programme responds to growing interest among Omanis and international residents in the Russian language, Russian culture, tourism, education and business opportunities. The programme officially commenced on 1 June 2026. Designed as a practical introduction to the Russian language, the course focuses on real-life communication skills, confidence-building and cultural understanding from the very first lessons.
Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm and are aimed at participants seeking practical language skills for travel, business, personal development and deeper engagement with Russian culture. Growing tourism, educational and business links between Oman and Russia are contributing to increased interest in learning Russian and creating demand for accessible language-learning opportunities.
The programme is hosted at ABA Oman International School, which actively supports multilingual learning and international education, providing students and adult learners with opportunities to engage with different languages and cultures. The course is delivered by a qualified native Russian-speaking instructor as part of Russian House Oman’s educational initiative.
Anna Popova, Head of Russian House Oman said, “We have seen growing interest in Russia, the Russian language and educational opportunities among people in Oman. This programme has been designed as a practical introduction for beginners, and we are delighted to welcome the first group of students. We hope this will become the foundation for a broader educational programme that will include additional courses, workshops and cultural initiatives in the future.”

“As business, tourism and professional cooperation between Oman and Russia continue to expand, interest in learning each other’s languages is growing naturally. Practical language programmes such as this create valuable opportunities for communication, business development and stronger long-term connections between our countries,” said Dr Igor Egorov, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Community in Oman
The programme serves as the first step in a wider educational initiative planned by Russian House Oman, with additional language courses, workshops and cultural activities scheduled to begin from September 2026. Information about upcoming courses, schedules and registration will be announced through the Russian House Oman Instagram channel.
