Nizwa – Judicial officers from the Consumer Protection Department in Dakhliyah have seized more than 500 non-compliant tyres valued at over RO13,000 during inspection campaigns targeting tyre retail outlets.

The action followed the discovery of discrepancies between the manufacturing dates marked on the tyres and the information provided on the Gulf Standard Specification labels. While the tyres were marked as manufactured in 2026, the accompanying specification labels indicated a manufacturing date of 2024.

Investigations revealed that the labels had been affixed to the tyres to facilitate their sale, constituting a violation of the Consumer Protection Law, its Executive Regulations, and relevant decisions governing tyre trading and safety standards.

Authorities confiscated the seized tyres and completed the necessary legal procedures against the violating establishment.
