Muscat – Omani brands marked a milestone in their international expansion with the signing of three master franchise agreements and the opening of two Seven Fries outlets in New Delhi during the 22nd International Franchise & Retail Show in India.
The participation of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by its Franchise Center in cooperation with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), led to agreements aimed at strengthening the global footprint of Omani enterprises.
Haitham bin Saif Al Habsi, owner of Bomba Burrito, signed a master franchise agreement for India with Gaurav Marya, Chairman of Franchise India.
Saif bin Mohammed Al Riyami, owner of Shawarma & Musahab and Joaan, concluded two master franchise agreements covering Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Eng Hamoud bin Salem Al Saadi, Second Vice Chairman of OCCI and Chairman of the Chamber’s Franchise Center Committee, inaugurated two branches of the Omani fast-food brand Seven Fries in New Delhi. The openings form part of the franchise programme overseen by OCCI to accelerate the international growth of Omani brands and link them with global investors and operators.
Al Saadi said the programme has opened new avenues for Omani companies by facilitating franchise partnerships and enhancing competitiveness in regional and international markets.
“Omani brands today possess the capability to expand and invest abroad thanks to their quality, operational efficiency and competitive business models,” he said. He added that investor confidence in Omani products and services continues to rise.
Issa bin Saleh Al Aghbari, founder of Seven Fries, described the overseas expansion as a key milestone since the brand’s launch in Seeb in 2021. “Within a short period, we have expanded into six countries and are preparing to enter the United States market through the franchise model,” he said.
The exhibition, held in New Delhi from May 16 to 17, featured 12 Omani brands. The participation aimed to support local businesses in entering the Indian market and neighbouring countries, while creating direct links with investors, operators and potential franchise partners.
The event also provided Omani companies access to specialised workshops and programmes focused on franchising and investment, as part of broader efforts to position Omani brands in competitive global markets.
