Mudhaibi – The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Wednesday inaugurated Mudhaibi Health Complex in North Sharqiyah at a total cost of RO1.12mn, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services and advance the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Zaher bin Sulaiman Al Salmi, Deputy President of the State Audit Institution for Oversight of Government Units.

Built on a site of 24,827sqm, the complex has a built-up area of 1,458.9sqm. It houses 16 general and specialist clinics, a fully equipped medical laboratory, a physiotherapy unit, an X-ray room and a pharmacy, in addition to a meeting hall, administrative offices and service facilities.

The design takes into account the needs of patients and visitors, with spacious waiting areas provided separately for men and women. The facility has also been equipped with modern medical equipment to support the delivery of healthcare services.

Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Maawali, Wali of Mudhaibi, said the new complex would provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to 26 villages across the wilayat, serving an estimated population of 34,229.

He said the project represented another step in the development of healthcare services in the governorate, helping improve access to primary and specialised care while enabling healthcare providers to respond more promptly to residents’ needs.

The complex is expected to enhance the quality of healthcare available to citizens and residents, bringing a wider range of services closer to local communities and contributing to an improved quality of life.

Dr Ahmed bin Said Al Saidi, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services in North Sharqiyah, said the complex represented a significant addition to the wilayat’s healthcare infrastructure.

He explained that the facility would provide a broad range of services, including general medicine, radiology, laboratory testing, oral and dental health, child healthcare and immunisation, as well as antenatal care and birth-spacing services.

Other services include health promotion, physiotherapy, chronic disease management, elderly care and home healthcare, allowing patients with different medical needs to access a wider range of services at a single facility.

The opening is also expected to ease pressure on existing healthcare institutions in the governorate and facilitate access to primary healthcare for citizens and residents closer to their homes.
