Dhofar – Environment Authority plants 100,000 mangrove seeds across several lagoons in the Dhofar Governorate. This initiative forms a central part of the Authority’s comprehensive annual programme dedicated to the recovery and restoration of mangrove forests throughout the Sultanate. By targeting specific coastal inlets, the project aims to enhance the natural biodiversity and environmental health of the region’s unique maritime landscapes.

Mangrove forests play a vital role in protecting coastlines from erosion and providing a nursery for diverse marine life. The recent seeding effort in Dhofar represents a commitment to long-term ecological sustainability and the expansion of green cover along Oman’s shores.
