Muscat – The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised an export, investment, tourism and employment promotion event titled ‘Economic Partnerships for Mutual Prosperity’ on Wednesday. The event brought together more than 100 participants from the business community in Oman and the Nepali diaspora.

The event focused on promoting exports from Nepal, highlighting investment opportunities, disseminating information on Oman’s labour regulations, boosting tourism and fostering connections between Nepali and Omani entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the event, H EDornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, highlighted his country’s vast potential in trade, investment and tourism, while inviting Omani investors to explore opportunities in the Himalayan nation. He said, “Nepal is strategically located between India and China, two of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies, with a combined population of about 2.8bn. This unique geographic position gives Nepal significant potential as a bridge for trade, investment and tourism.”

Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary at the embassy, added, “Nepal offers attractive opportunities across multiple sectors, and the embassy remains ready to facilitate and support anyone interested in doing business or investing in Nepal.”

The programme also featured a presentation by Khawla Mohammed Al Sadooni, corporate and litigation lawyer, who provided practical insights into Oman’s labour laws and regulations.

“A strong understanding of labour regulations helps both employers and employees build productive relationships, while ensuring workplace disputes are resolved through proper legal channels,” Khawla noted.

Participants were encouraged to network and explore collaborations in trade, investment and tourism between Nepal and Oman. Among the attendees was businessman Khemraj Thapa, who welcomed the initiative. “Events like this create valuable connections between businesses in Nepal and Oman. They help investors understand opportunities on both sides and pave the way for stronger economic cooperation,” Thapa said.

H E Aryal presented tokens of appreciation to Khawla and Sulaiman Al Naabi, an Everest climber, in recognition of their contributions to foster ties between the two countries.
