10 May 2026 Registrations open for Falling Walls Lab Oman 2026 By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE), represented by the Research and Innovation Authority, in cooperation with the Falling Walls Foundation, has opened registrations for the 2026 edition of Falling Walls Lab Oman from May 10 to June 11.

Falling Walls Lab is a global platform for innovative ideas and research projects across disciplines. It brings together researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and investors to promote scientific exchange and innovation.

The initiative takes its name from the fall of the Berlin Wall, symbolising the role of science in breaking barriers and translating research into practical solutions.

The competition is open to innovators from all fields who meet eligibility criteria. Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree within the past ten years, a master’s within seven years, or a PhD within five years. Current undergraduate and postgraduate students are also eligible. Submissions must be in English.

Participants are required to present a research project, innovative idea or entrepreneurial or social initiative in a three-minute PowerPoint presentation before a panel of experts from academia and industry.

The winner will represent Oman at the global Falling Walls Lab finale in Berlin from November 5 to 9.

Oman is participating for the 11th consecutive year. In 2025, the competition received 158 submissions, with 20 finalists selected locally and three winners advancing to the global finals in Berlin.
