Jalan Bani Bu Ali – The South Sharqiyah governorate will inaugurate Al Suwaih Park in the wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali April 29, marking the launch of a key development project aimed at enhancing community life and supporting local economic activity.
Designed as a multi-use destination, Al Suwaih Park seeks to transform public assets into sustainable economic and social value by providing a well-planned space for recreation, events and commercial activities.
According to the Governor’s Office, the project spans an area of around 41,000sqm and has been developed at a cost of RO479,000. The park features a range of facilities, including a restaurant, five retail outlets, children’s play areas, an events theatre, health trails, service amenities, parking spaces, modern lighting systems and a dedicated camping zone.

The project is expected to provide a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering direct opportunities to operate commercial and service outlets within the park. It will also enable entrepreneurs to participate in events and activities hosted at the venue, helping expand their reach to a broader audience.
In addition to supporting SMEs, the park is set to generate employment opportunities across operations, management and maintenance, alongside indirect jobs in sectors such as supply, transport and seasonal services. This is expected to contribute to local economic growth and the empowerment of national workforce capabilities.
Officials said the project aligns with broader efforts to promote self-employment and encourage individual initiatives, in line with the goals of economic diversification at both the governorate and national levels.
The park will operate under a flexible model that engages private investors in the management and operation of its facilities, aimed at enhancing service quality while ensuring sustainable returns.
A designated camping area, equipped with electricity, water and sanitation services, has been developed to enrich the visitor experience and encourage longer stays. Plans are in place to expand this facility in response to future demand.
Al Suwaih Park is expected to serve as a new tourism and leisure destination in South Sharqiyah, highlighting the region’s natural appeal while reinforcing the role of planned development in delivering tangible community benefits.
