Nizwa – A new recreational landmark is set to enrich community life in Nizwa with the soft opening of Nizwa Public Park on April 23, offering residents and visitors a space that blends nature, culture and leisure.
Developed by Dakhliyah Governor’s Office, the park has been designed as an integrated urban space that reflects the heritage of the historic city while providing modern recreational facilities for families and visitors.
Spread over 15,000sqm, the park features more than 530 trees, landscaped green lawns, shaded walkways and open areas for relaxation. A lake and fountain form a focal point of the park, enhancing its natural ambience and creating an attractive setting for visitors.

It includes recreational and sports facilities, as well as restaurants and cafés, offering a variety of options for leisure and social gatherings. Dedicated spaces for picnics and relaxation have been incorporated to encourage outdoor activities and community engagement.
Officials say the project aims to provide a vibrant urban park that meets community aspirations, combining environmental sustainability with recreational and cultural elements.
The soft opening will allow visitors to explore the park’s facilities and experience a new green space that highlights Nizwa’s commitment to enhancing quality of life while preserving the character of one of Oman’s most historic cities.
