Khasab – India has confirmed that at least 12 sailors were injured following an attack on a Panama-flagged commercial vessel, MT On Peace, off the coast of Oman while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The vessel carried a total crew of 19 people, including 17 Indian nationals, with 11 of the injured being Indian citizens. With the assistance of Omani authorities, the wounded crew members were successfully evacuated and are currently receiving medical treatment in Khasab, Oman.

The Foreign Ministry of India expressed deep concern over ongoing attacks on regional shipping and reiterated its call for an immediate cessation of such incidents.

Furthermore, New Delhi emphasised that the targeting of commercial shipping, seafarers, and civilian infrastructure must end to ensure that navigation and commerce through international waterways are restored as soon as possible.
