20 Sep 2026 Hajj registration to open on September 28 By MUSCAT DAILY CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) will open registration for citizens and residents of Oman wishing to perform Hajj during the 1448 AH season from September 28 to October 11 through the electronic system at www.hajj.om.

In a statement, MERA stressed that Hajj companies are prohibited from intervening in the registration process to ensure transparency and allow eligible applicants to freely choose their preferred Hajj company.

Eligible applicants are required to select a Hajj company through the electronic system, with the selection carrying financial obligations. The choice will be considered confirmation of the applicant’s agreement to contract with the selected company.

Applicants must pay the specified amount electronically through the system. The electronic contract will be legally binding on both parties before the relevant authorities. MERA may cancel an application if an eligible applicant fails to make the required payment within the specified period.

MERA also said applications submitted before the official registration period, after the deadline, or without the required supporting documents will not be considered.

The notification of eligible applicants and the selection of Hajj companies for the first category of eligibility will take place from October 21 to November 11. Selection for the second category will be conducted from November 16 to 22, followed by the third category from November 24 to 27.

The Hajj Conference and Exhibition will be held from October 22 to 24, MERA said.

The final date for receiving cancellation requests is February 27, while the last date for air travel for Hajj pilgrims is May 12.
