Muscat – Electric vehicle (EV) owners in Oman will begin paying for public charging services from October 1, with tariffs ranging from 50bz to 120bz/kWh, according to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The tariff structure will be linked to the capacity of charging equipment, with higher-capacity and faster chargers attracting higher charges.

Charging tariffs will be50bz/kWh – chargers with a capacity of 90kW or less; 90bz/kWh – chargers with a capacity of 91kW to 180kW; and 120bz/kWh – chargers with a capacity of 181kW or more.

Introduction of the tariffs marks a new phase in the development of Oman’s electric mobility infrastructure, as the country expands EV adoption and charging networks.
