USA – US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the United States is prepared to take further military action against Iran if instructed by President Donald Trump.
Hegseth emphasised that Washington remains determined to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and highlighted previous damage done to Iranian military capabilities.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to maritime traffic until Washington accepts Iran’s specific conditions.
Indirect negotiations between both nations are currently ongoing through mediators in Pakistan and Qatar, though Iran continues to reject US economic sanctions and military threats in favour of diplomatic solutions.
