Suhar – Oman Minerals Trading Company has announced the launch of its first integrated shipment of Omani chromium, carrying a load of over 50,000 tn through the Port of Suhar.

This milestone opens a new chapter in marketing and exporting Omani chromium, featuring multiple grades within a single shipment to satisfy diverse buyers and factories while expanding global market reach into Asian and European regions.

Concurrently, the company successfully marketed and exported more than 1.8 mn tonnes of gypsum across eleven countries using over 32 vessels departing from the Port of Salalah, accompanied by an eight percent increase in the average selling price compared to the same period last year.

Gypsum export destinations now include Kuwait, new African markets, and a revived South Korean market. Hussain bin Ali Al Lawati, Chairman of the Board of Directors, noted that these achievements reflect an integrated approach to centralised export management, aiming to maximise commercial value for Omani minerals while balancing international sales with the raw material needs of domestic manufacturing industries.

Established under Ministerial Decision Number 18 of 2025 with exclusive export rights starting in June 2026, the company continues to enhance transparency, competitiveness, and global positioning for the nation’s mineral resources.
