Nizwa – Court in Nizwa has issued a judicial ruling against a commercial establishment specialising in aluminium and blacksmithing for violating the Consumer Protection Law.

The legal action followed a complaint filed with the Consumer Protection Department in the Dakhliyah Governorate by a customer who had contracted the firm for aluminium installation work valued at RO 1,500. The establishment failed to complete the project within the agreed timeframe, leading to significant delays.

Upon review, the court convicted the defendant of failing to provide services properly and within the specified period. The court imposed a fine of RO 100 on the establishment and ordered it to cover the costs of the criminal proceedings, while the related civil claim has been referred to the competent court.
