Muscat – H E Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, held an open meeting with Omani exporters at the Ministry’s headquarters to strengthen private sector partnerships. Accompanied by H E Eng. Ghalib bin Said Al Mamari, Undersecretary for Commerce and Industry, the Minister emphasised that such engagement is essential for achieving economic diversification and enhancing the national economy’s competitiveness. The session provided a platform to address critical operational obstacles, including logistics, port connectivity, shipping costs, and customs procedural challenges.

The Ministry is actively working to provide enablers that expand the export base and facilitate access to new international markets. Discussions focused on utilising various trade frameworks, such as Gulf Cooperation Council agreements, the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, and partnerships with the United States and India. Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted the role of “Oman Export” as a vital tool for market targeting and information access. To ensure long-term progress, the Ministry has conducted a comprehensive survey to gather data on export values and market needs, and it has approved a new, structured communication mechanism to maintain ongoing dialogue between the government and exporters.
