Muscat – The Omani-Pakistani Friendship Association will be officially launched in Muscat on Sunday, marking a new initiative to strengthen bilateral ties between Oman and Pakistan.
The association aims to enhance cooperation across economic, cultural and social sectors while promoting closer engagement between the people of the two countries. It also seeks to encourage partnerships in business, youth development and sports as part of broader efforts to deepen longstanding relations.
Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, founder and president of the association, said the launch represents a new chapter in Oman-Pakistan relations and reflects a shared commitment to expanding cooperation based on mutual respect, cultural understanding, commercial partnership and community engagement.
He said the organisation was established to serve as a platform for building stronger links and creating opportunities for collaboration in a range of fields, including trade, education, culture, youth initiatives and sports. The objective, he added, is to support the aspirations of both nations by fostering closer people-to-people connections.
Shah said the association has completed the formation of its founding committee, bringing together experienced community leaders who will oversee its programmes and activities.
In the coming months, the association plans to organise cultural events, educational initiatives, business forums and youth-focused programmes designed to promote dialogue and expand cooperation between Oman and Pakistan.
Organisers said these activities are intended to strengthen mutual understanding and reinforce the historical friendship between the two countries while creating new opportunities for collaboration in areas of shared interest.
