2 Jun 2026 CAA issues heat advisory as temperatures soar across Oman By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority has reported a significant rise in temperatures, with current readings reaching 48°C in several regions including Muscat, Wadi Al Maawil, Khabourah, Suwaiq, and Barka. This extreme heat is attributed to the presence of an upper atmospheric high-pressure system, which is being exacerbated by dry north-westerly winds. To ensure public safety during this intense period, authorities have issued a formal heat advisory and are strongly urging residents to take necessary precautions.

The public is strictly advised to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, particularly during the afternoon hours when temperatures are at their peak. Furthermore, residents are encouraged to maintain adequate hydration by consuming sufficient quantities of water to prevent dehydration.
