South Sharqiyah – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully facilitated the recovery of approximately RO7,000 for a consumer following a dispute with a vehicle sales establishment. The matter originated when a consumer lodged a formal complaint after entering into a contract to purchase a new vehicle for RO6,999. Although the contractual procedures were initially finalised, the consumer subsequently requested to cancel the agreement prior to taking delivery of the vehicle, citing special circumstances that prevented her from proceeding with the purchase.

Upon investigating the complaint in line with established regulatory protocols, the Department initiated mediation between the two parties. This process resulted in an amicable settlement, ensuring the full refund of the amount paid and effectively safeguarding the consumer’s rights.
