Nizwa – Dakhliyah Governor’s Office has invited investors to bid for the development and operations of a new adventure park in the Ghaf Al Sheikh area of Nizwa in a move aimed at boosting tourism offerings and diversifying local economic activity.

The tender covers investment, design, construction and long-term operations of the project, alongside a range of supporting services that will enhance the visitor experience. Envisioned as an integrated outdoor destination, the park is expected to feature rope courses, climbing structures, a zipline and family-friendly recreational zones set within a natural landscape.

According to details released by the governorate, the project spans an area of approximately 28,699sqm. The investment period will extend up to 25 years, providing the successful bidder a long-term opportunity to develop a sustainable tourism asset aligned with Oman’s broader economic diversification goals.

The tender also grants a preparatory period of two years and six months for design, approvals and construction prior to full operations. Officials said the project is designed to attract both local residents and international visitors, while encouraging private sector participation in developing experiential tourism.

Known for its terrain and scenic surroundings, the Ghaf Al Sheikh location offers an ideal setting for adventure-based activities. The initiative reflects growing interest in eco-tourism and outdoor leisure experiences across the sultanate, particularly in heritage-rich destinations such as Nizwa.

By launching this project, Dakhliyah aims to consolidate its position as a key tourism hub, create new business opportunities and support job creation, while offering visitors a distinctive recreational experience rooted in Oman’s natural environment.
