Muscat – Oman will join fellow GCC states on May 3 in marking the 38th GCC Traffic Week, a regional initiative aimed at raising road safety awareness and promoting responsible behaviour among motorists and pedestrians.

Held under the slogan ‘Cross Safely’, the campaign will run till May 7, reflecting a unified effort across the Gulf to encourage safer driving practices and enhance pedestrian protection.

Royal Oman Police will spearhead the programme in the sultanate, organising a series of awareness events and educational exhibitions across various governorates in cooperation with government entities and private sector partners. The activities are designed to familiarise the public with traffic regulations while emphasising the importance of caution and vigilance on the roads.

In Muscat governorate, the main exhibition will be inaugurated on Sunday by Ahmed bin Saeed Al Amri, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, at Mall of Oman. The event is expected to serve as a key platform for community engagement, offering interactive displays and guidance aimed at reinforcing traffic safety culture.
