Muscat – The Ministry of Health (MoH), through the Department of Blood Banks Services, has issued a very urgent appeal to the public regarding a critical shortage of a specific blood type. Due to a sudden increase in emergency surgical operations, there is an immediate and pressing need for blood type A-Negative. Holders of this specific blood group are strongly urged to visit the Central Blood Bank in Bausher as soon as possible to donate either whole blood or platelets to assist in these life-saving procedures.

To accommodate donors, the Central Blood Bank in Bausher remains open from Saturday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Additionally, the Seeb Blood Donation Centre is available for contributions from Sunday to Friday, operating between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The health authorities have emphasised that these donations are vital for the success of ongoing emergency surgeries. The department expressed its gratitude in advance to all citizens and residents who respond to this humanitarian call, reinforcing the importance of community solidarity in supporting the national healthcare system.
