Muscat – The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) on Sunday signed a funding agreement worth RO60,000 with OQ Exploration & Production  to support a set of initiatives emerging from capacity-building workshops for civil society organisations.

The initiatives include a strategic planning programme for social work and the Civil Society Excellence and Innovation Award. The agreement was signed at the ministry’s headquarters.

Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development for Family and Community Development, signed on behalf of the ministry, while Mahmoud bin Abdullah al Hashmi, Chief Executive Officer of OQEP, signed on behalf of the company.

The agreement aims to enhance the capabilities of civil society organisations, enabling them to improve efficiency and strengthen their developmental role in social work. MoSD said the partnership reflects its commitment to institutional collaboration between the public and private sectors to support initiatives with sustainable social impact. It also underscores the ministry’s efforts to modernise social work tools in line with Oman’s comprehensive development goals
