USA – The technology giant Apple has officially confirmed a significant change in its senior leadership. Tim Cook, who has served as the Chief Executive Officer since 2011, is to step down from his position on September 1. Following his departure from the role, he will remain with the company as the executive chairman of the board of directors.
Cook’s tenure has been marked by substantial growth, during which the firm’s market value rose to four trillion dollars. Under his direction, the company launched several successful products, including the Apple Watch and AirPods, and expanded its digital services. He originally took over the leadership from the company’s co-founder, Steve Jobs, and has since overseen the refinement of the iPhone and the introduction of new hardware.
John Ternus, the current Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, has been named as the new CEO. Ternus has been a part of the organisation since 2001 and has played a central role in the development of the iPad and Mac. The transition comes at a time when the company is focusing on new developments in artificial intelligence and hardware innovation. In a statement to the community, Cook expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the firm and noted his confidence in the future leadership of Ternus.
